I Am Back!!!

Hi!

I have missed writing! I am sorry I didn’t keep my promise of updating the blog every week; I have been busy with school and trying to finish up my course papers. Trust me, grad school is stressful! Every time I plan to write an article for the blog, I just stumble on one of my course papers and divert my attention. As stressed as I was, it was fun writing these papers. I am looking at having them published, but let's see what the future holds.

Just some tea on what I have been up to; two weeks ago, I discovered some Nigerian anchored Podcasts on Apple podcast, and my days have never been the same 😍🥰😁. I listen to these podcasts every morning that I have forgotten about Clubhouse. Clubhouse is my favorite social media platform, but I think I am beginning to love podcasts more. They are really great at keeping you entertained and also helping you think critically. I subscribed to 6 shows: 234 Essentials, So Nigerian, The Receipt Podcast, To my sisters, Me, Her & everything else podcast, Menisms, Frankly speaking, and my fav, I said what I said. I am a latecomer at listening to podcasts, but I am glad I stumbled upon them at the time I needed them the most.

So, Twitter was on fire this week, and I loved it! 🤣🤣🤣. However, of all the things going on, one trend that really gave me goosebumps is the videos of my gender doing the unthinkable!

I was really bothered at the thought that anyone would want to eat poop or would agree to knacking a dog! for money. Haba Haba! What is going on?! Eberu Olorun [fear God]

I am shocked and disappointed. I act surprised, but I am not, and I am in no position to judge anyone cause I also have my flaws. I understand the pressure that comes with success, but while you do these “shocking” things, do you look back and feel regrets? Apart from the immediate pleasure you gain, do you think of the future?. I am really trying hard not to sound like a morality police, but this is insane! You do these things and come online to quote bible passages/ form hardworking women and make the “true” hardworking women question their growth!

Again, this is insane! What is wrong with us? Why do we always think that we can sleep our way through things? What's up with the mentality of using your body to get what you want? However, I won't blame one party. I have heard and been in situations where you would be asked for sex because you need help. In my opinion, these situations are why some women think it is okay to “just” give sex and some shocking acts in exchange for wealth. These acts are why some women do not believe genuine men who offer help with nothing attached because there is the mentality that men don’t do things for free. I am not making excuses for anyone, but I am only trying hard to understand why anyone would do any of these things in their actual senses.

I understand the “Instagram pressure,” but please don't destroy yourself or your potential future for nothing. To the genuine and legit hardworking women, keep pushing. One day, all hustle would pay.

As I end my two cents, I want you as my reader to love yourself, love your neighbor, and above all, love God. If you can digest that sentence, you will find life more effortless.
